150th Celebration with Flowers
Gardeners and plant lovers are by nature generous, sharing people, quick to offer bouquets, cuttings, seeds and bits of wisdom gleaned from digging in the soil and nurturing plants. Whether celebrating successes or pondering near successes, they are as optimistic as and endearing as their gardens.
In keeping with their natures and with the theme “Celebrating Canada’s 150” Chester gardeners recently presented an impressive showing of specimens and created a splendid assortment of floral designs that were the highlight of the Chester Garden Club’s annual Flower Show and Tea.

This group of photos shows a sampling of the team’s work; the silent auction tables (a visually pleasing “themed” presentation), volunteers helping exhibitors to register, serving of tea, and others during the show. There were also many behind the scenes preparations that made the day successful that must be acknowledged.
Members and friends produced 89 creative interpretive designs and 71 horticultural specimens from their gardens for assessment by two qualified NSAGC judges.
The following gallery shows some of our visitors and garden club members enjoying the show and having tea. Also included are a selection of photos of some of the winners and prize winning entries.
Special thanks to all those who helped make this years shows successful, especially Esther. Our plan was to work as a team and we succeeded with her special abilities that encouraged and supported as we participated where and how members were comfortable.
